                                              > about my photography: I took black-and-white photographs as a teenager in the 1970s and had my own darkroom, but then gave up photography for almost three decades (probably waiting for the digital age). Since around 2009, I have been taking photography seriously again, with a focus on urban photography. I am driven by my search for a ‘valid’ image of our present and the world we live ina world that, since that time, has been urban for more than 50 percent of humanity. In recent years, I have broadened my horizons to new fields, Im just curious to see what comes of it. And finally: I am not interested in purely photographic effects (special contrasts, perspectives, geometric patterns, etc.)—as already mentioned, I am interested in an image of the ‘world,’ but an image that should always be a “beautiful photograph,” as Jeff Wall says ().
